San FranciscO Progressive deathmetal

Started in 2010 by steve and eli, at balboa hs, WrätH has been playing shows deep in the underbelly of the san francisco metal scene, delivering a fast, aggressive and often witty/comical performance. 

The band's sound has evolved slowly over the years as more influences outside of the metal spectrum. Elements of jazz, noise, and post-rock can be heard as WrätH aims to break away from more conventional Blackend death metal and thrash roots. 

Originally started by steve looking for musicians to jam with on original material, JJ Romero and Eli Pontecorvo jumped on drums and bass respectively, later adding a jazz spin with Kai Lyons on lead/rhythm guitar. With the a four piece line up, the band quickly started rehearsing and playing small local shows, the first being a battle of the bands at the jewish contemporary museum. not too long after all of WrätH's members graduated high school and brief stint in Eternal Disease, steve and eli decided to revive the project with Carlos Barahona on Drums. Now a three piece band, WrätH's first official recording, Empire of Ruin was released in 2015. After 3 years, the band split from Carlos with Lorenzo stepping in on drums. After a year of long rehearsals, and many fun show opportunities, WrätH is now back in the studio recording their second E.P
